The Oldest Pubs in London

Making a pub quiz is one thing but actually getting people in the door and returning is a completely different kettle of fish. All to often many quizzes fail not because of the questions but the environment and night that’s created. Below is a how to make them enjoyable

Have a laugh. A big failing of some pub quizzes is they can be boring. Spice them up and put some fun into them, have a laugh, make a fool of yourself. If you’re not comfortable with that then get someone else who to do one of the rounds and let them have a go. Try to keep the enjoyment.

Have on off rounds. A static pub quiz is fine but to make them that little bit more interesting it have somewhere that a small set of prizes can be given out as a one off. This round should be designed for anyone to win. Maybe one player from each team gets a shot at the black on the pool table. A set of questions where the quiz goers have to call out the answers. This can be done in the drinks break

Have instant prizes. Silly events where you give out a prize 달토셔츠룸 anything you can think of like for the best top or pair of shoes. It doesn’t have to be someones clothes but it gives an idea. A pub quiz is often a community getting together especially in smaller pubs so lets makes them enjoy themselves.

Mix the handout rounds up a bit. If you always have a picture round in the pub quiz then move look at story board or ditloids rounds. Something where you have to think a little more and even if you don’t know the answer immediately you might be able to puzzle through it. Don’t become too hung up on picture rounds whilst they are popular they also can be easily cheated on with new smart phone apps if they are not heavily distorted.

Get a band in and do a round about them. Guess that tune is great with a band and it doesn’t have to be a band that costs. Many starting out bands want to play a pub to get practice. Allow them to start off 30mins early and once the quiz has finished let them carry on playing until closing time. Quiz round with a band helping out will get the pub full of life and is helping a new band.

Have a pub quiz that has all handout rounds. These can be a great one to do and you can give prizes out for the winner of each round. Don’t bankrupt yourself so make the prizes smaller. Give people a set time to answer the questions before moving on, handout another quiz round and mark whilst the audience are doing another round.
